b. 1993
Lives and works in Brussels
Influenced by her cosmopolitan education, from San Salvador to Nouakchott, New Delhi, Los Angeles, she moved to France aged 18, where she earned several degrees in Applied Art, both in Fashion and Textile design at the School of Art and Design ENSAAMA (Paris). She expanded her aim for painting as an artist's assistant in Paris, before pursuing her own fine-art practice.
“Lucy Tezier’s work is rooted in the silent world of nature. In order to understand the full sensitivity of her work, it is necessary to be silent, to observe and finally to feel the emotions that emerge from it. The smells, shapes and colors of the countries that saw her grow and evolve constitute the foundations of her work. Her flowers, a recurring subject in her work, take on an esoteric dimension, floating without root or stem on canvases filled with color.”
